The Spearing Waite corporate lawyers have been nominated in three separate award categories at the annual Insider East Midlands Dealmakers Awards.
Taking place on 24 May 2018 and organised by Insider Media, the Dealmaker Awards recognise the thriving East Midlands corporate finance community and highlight the deals that have made the headlines.
Spearing Waite has been nominated for:
- Legal Team of the Year
- Deal of the Year for the MBO of energy technology firm ENSEK, and
- SME Deal of the Year for the MBO of Zero 1 Exhibitions
Jahid Ali, partner and Head of Corporate at Spearing Waite commented:
“This is the second year in a row that Spearing Waite has been nominated for Legal Team of the Year. In addition, two of our deals have been nominated. That is on the back of one of our deals winning in last year’s awards. The team continues to go from strength to strength, and we are consistently being engaged by high quality clients on notable transactions. These latest dealmakers award nominations are a testament to our established reputation in the East Midlands’ market as a top-tier corporate firm.”
Spearing Waite’s Legal Team of the Year nomination comes on the back of a record 12 months for the corporate team, which advised on more than 30 transactions during 2017 including the ENSEK deal, a £24 million acquisition for pizza delivery firm Dominos, and a £75 million venture capital fund raise for Longwall Venture Partners.
The team won the SME Deal of the Year award at the 2017 Dealmakers event for its role in the £10m development capital deal for Johnsons Aggregates & Recycling and is hoping to repeat the success in 2018.
The Dealmakers Awards take place on Thursday 24 May at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel.
