Spearing Waite has joined one the UK’s fastest growing regional legal and professional services businesses, Knights.

Knights identified Spearing Waite as an ideal match due to our profile as Leicester’s largest independent law firm, our highly diversified client base, and our talented partners and staff. Our entrepreneurial, ambitious culture aligns with that of Knights, as well as our combination of both SME and blue-chip clients.

By joining Knights, Spearing Waite is now part of a much larger firm, with eight regional offices and 450 lawyers.

Clients of Spearing Waite can be assured of a seamless transfer and continued excellent service, which is now further enhanced by access to the wider Knights network.

Commenting on the acquisition, Spearing Waite senior partner Tom Bower said:

“We have grown Spearing Waite to be the best firm in Leicester through brilliant people acting for quality clients. To continue our growth strategy, we have decided to join Knights plc, a larger business and perfect cultural fit. Knights has the ambition and the financial clout to enable the combined force to continue to thrive in Leicester. We can’t wait to get cracking with our ambitious growth plans.”

David Beech, CEO at Knights, added:

“We are delighted to have acquired Spearing Waite, a firm which is culturally aligned with Knights and one we have known for some time.  They have created a strong reputation in Leicester, as evidenced by their fantastic client portfolio, and I have no doubt that they will be a great addition to our business.”

Spearing Waite will be formally rebranded as Knights from 1 January 2019.
